Which smartphone GPS apps cover Peuramaa Golf?

Hi, Anyone can recommend some good smartphone (Android, Windows Phone or Symbian) apps for Golf GPS in Finland? I tried several and none seems to have data for Peuramaa Golf where I play often. Thanks in advance! Jian

mScorecard used to run on Symbian, not sure, if there are versions still available.And there was also distance information available.

Hi Jian,
I would recommend that you ask the kind personnel of Peuramaa to assist you. They should know what is used by their players. In some cases even the clubs themselves have been active in measuring the courses for GPS use.
I am sure they will help you.

mScorecard runs still on Symbian, named general smartphones on the website. There are also versions for Android, iPhone, Blackberry and old Windows Mobile. MeeGo version is obviously coming, but the schedule is open at least for me.

And the GPS information for the greens and some hazards is in the mScorecard Peuramaa courses.

I tried some apps on Windows Phone and Android, it seems mScorecard is the best but I have not tried this one in the course. Here are some of my experiences to share.

The FreeCaddie data are not accurate – showing green center at least 20 m away for almost all holes. Mobitee is not easy to use. At least I had difficult to figure out how to use when starting the app in the field. GolfLogix does not have Peuramaa covered but they responded to my email inquiry that they would try to map the course.

BTW, Peuramaa has the worst info about the course details – no printed course, no detailed online cause info per hole and even no distance info on their course map at the tee box. Though their courses are quite decent, especially Porkkala.

I hear the mobile device GPS-resievers have about the accuracy of 5 m. Have had about the same experience on accuracy.

And yes, I share your opinion on Porkkala.

I just checked at mScorecard-pages and they said that their version of Peuramaa:s scorecard (for both Porkkala and Vanha Peura) includes also the GPS-tracker. I use an Android smartphone, but I think the same apps are availabale for other smartphones as well (at least NOKIA’s symbian phones and APPLE’s iPhones).

Why not start a new thread about that?

Good thing about mscorecard is that you can enter e.g. hazard locations yourself if you want.
