In summary, this article has shown that modeling and simulation have been used in various investigations to analyze the mechanics of the golf swing. The sophistication of the models range from very simple (for example, a gravity-driven double pendulum model in the first part of White’s study [16]) to very complex (for example, a full-body model that includes various sub-models, such as that proposed by Nesbit [39]). Each model has its justification and purpose, but it appears at this point in time that more realistic models have the greatest potential to improve our under- standing of the dynamics of the golf swing, while not becoming over-complicated
